1. Project Background and Requirements
VSIP District 1 is one of the most modern office and commercial complexes in Ho Chi Minh City, home to many domestic and international businesses. Luxmage's client is a renewable energy company with offices located there, requiring display solutions for two main spaces: the reception area and the production control center.
1.1. Requirements in the waiting area and lobby
The lobby area is the first point of contact for partners and clients when they arrive at the office. Businesses want to:
Create a striking media impression right from the reception area.
Showcase videos that vividly introduce the brand, marketing campaigns, and company achievements.
Showcase the professional, modern image and technological capabilities of the business.
Content can be flexibly adapted to specific events, campaigns, or partners.
1.2. Requirements at the operations center
The operations center manages all of the company's production and operational activities. The requirements are as follows:
Simultaneously display multiple information streams: operational data dashboard, energy monitoring system (solar power output, substation capacity), security cameras, and real-time reports.
It has the capability to split the display into multiple areas (multi-screen splitting) to simultaneously monitor different data sources on a single screen.
Operating stably 24/7 without interruption, ensuring real-time data is continuously updated.
The image quality is high, with no blurring or pixelation when viewed at close range in the control room.
The screen became an impressive media focal point right from the reception area.
2. COB LED Display Solution P1.53
After conducting a site survey and analyzing operational needs, Luxmage proposed using a P1.53 COB LED display with a total area of 11,264㎡ (W6400 x H1760). This solution simultaneously meets both objectives: brand communication in the lobby and data management in the operations center.
2.1. What is COB technology?
COB (Chip on Board) technology is an advanced LED packaging technology in which LED chips are mounted directly onto a circuit board and covered with a protective layer. Unlike traditional SMD (Surface Mount Device) technology, COB has many superior advantages:
High durability: LED chips are better protected from impacts, dust, and moisture, making them suitable for continuous operation in office environments.
Good heat dissipation: This helps the monitor operate stably for extended periods, which is especially important for 24/7 operation.
Wide viewing angle: The image is displayed evenly from all angles, suitable for large lobbies and meeting rooms.
High contrast: Deeper blacks, more accurate colors, meeting professional display requirements.
Anti-glare and anti-reflection: Minimizes glare when strong light shines directly on the surface.
The P1.53 COB LED display in the operations center manages all operational data and the company's energy monitoring system.
2.2. Reasons for choosing P1.53 for the project
The 1.53mm pixel pitch was chosen based on practical factors:
Viewing distance: In the control room and lobby, the average viewing distance is 2-5 meters. P1.53 provides a smooth image without pixelation when viewed up close.
Display details: For dashboards with small text and detailed data, high resolution is a mandatory requirement.
Video quality: Brand videos need to display sharp images and true-to-life colors to make a strong impression on customers.
3. Practical Application at the VSIP District 1 Office
3.1. In the waiting area and lobby
The screen is installed in the center of the lobby, opposite the reception area. With its large size and high image quality, the screen becomes an impressive media focal point right from the entrance.
The content displayed includes:
Brand introduction video: A 3-5 minute short film about the company's history, vision, mission, and achievements, shown on a rotating basis.
Communication campaign: Highlights, upcoming events, community activities, and corporate social responsibility.
Welcome message: Display a greeting in the language appropriate for each partner (Vietnamese, English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese).
Key figures: Impressive indicators on renewable energy production, number of projects implemented, market share, and growth rate.
Results achieved:
The lobby area has become noticeably more professional and modern.
Partners and clients alike stop to watch the content on the screen when they arrive for work.
Brand videos are shown continuously, increasing awareness and reinforcing the company's image in the minds of customers.
Reception staff can proactively adjust the welcome message to suit each specific partner.
The ability to split the screen into multiple zones simultaneously displays real-time data dashboards.
3.2. At the Control Center
This is the core application of the project. The P1.53 COB LED display is integrated with the company's energy management system and surveillance cameras. Thanks to its multi-zone screen splitting capability, the operations center can simultaneously display multiple sources of information.
The data sources shown are:
Real-time data dashboard: Solar power output from PV plants, substation capacity (EVN), system performance index, daily output.
Surveillance cameras: Images from camera installations at factories, warehouses, and offices are displayed clearly on a large screen.
Video conferencing: Connect with other meeting rooms or remote partners for online meetings.
Operational reports: Charts, daily/weekly/monthly data analysis, and alerts for abnormal parameters.
Alert system: Displays emergency notifications and technical issues so that staff can handle them promptly.
Operators can flexibly change the layout according to needs at any given time, zooming in on an area requiring detailed monitoring or zooming out to view the overall picture.
Operational benefits:
Centralized management: All data is displayed on a single large screen, eliminating the need for multiple separate, visually distracting monitors.
Multitasking monitoring: Operators can monitor multiple information sources simultaneously, detecting anomalies more quickly.
Rapid response: When an alert is received from the system, staff can handle it immediately without switching between screens.
Space saving: One large screen replaces multiple smaller screens, making the executive office neater and more professional.
3.3. Operates 24/7 without interruption
One of the most important requirements is that the screen must operate continuously without interruption. COB technology, with its excellent heat dissipation and high durability, meets this requirement.
Technical solutions to ensure 24/7 operation:
Redundant power supply: The system is designed with a redundant power supply; if one power source fails, the other automatically takes over.
Redundant signal: The input signal is duplicated, ensuring that if one signal line is broken, the other remains operational.
Active cooling: The cooling fan system is designed with appropriate power, maintaining the screen temperature within acceptable limits even during continuous operation.
Fault alert: The system automatically sends alerts to technicians if it detects any abnormalities in temperature, power, or signal.
After 30 days of continuous operation, the screen showed no technical issues. The temperature remained stable, and the displayed images did not flicker or lag.
The ability to split the screen into multiple zones simultaneously displays real-time data dashboards.
4. Project Implementation Process
The project was implemented following a professional process, ensuring both progress and quality:
4.1. Survey of the current situation (1 day)
Luxmage's technical team conducted an on-site survey at the VSIP District 1 office:
Measure the installation space in the lobby and operations center.
Assess natural and artificial lighting conditions, viewing angles, and viewing distances.
Check the electrical system, power supply, and signal wiring.
Gather information about the existing dashboard and camera systems for integration.
4.2. Design and solution consultation (1 day)
Based on the survey results, Luxmage proposes the optimal solution:
The monitor mounting frame design should complement the interior architecture without compromising the overall aesthetics.
Develop a plan for signal and power wiring, ensuring both aesthetics and safety.
We provide consulting services for multi-zone screen splitting solutions tailored to your operational needs.
Suggest hardware and software configurations for the control system.
4.3. Construction and installation (2 days)
The construction process was carried out quickly but still ensured quality:
Day 1: Install the mounting frame and support system. Run power and signal cables within the frame.
Day 2: Install LED modules, connect the control card. Install the software and perform initial color calibration.
4.4. Testing and handover (1 day)
Run a full test with all content for 24 hours to check for stability.
Perform a final color correction to ensure consistent image quality across the entire screen.
Instructing the client's technical staff on how to operate, modify content, and troubleshoot basic issues.
Handover, acceptance testing, and signing of the minutes.
Operating data is displayed in detail with high resolution. A pixel pitch of 1.53mm provides smooth images and clear digits, even when viewed from close range.
